It’s no secret that I (along with tons of other women) love Pinterest. Sometimes I pin the stereotypical daunting Pinterest craft pins (like the ones that are the inspiration for sites like Pinterest Fail-which is hilarious, btw) but many times when I go on Pinterest I become inspired. The inspiration comes from many different areas, such as a thought-provoking quote written in beautiful typography (advertising major here!), an easy meal that even I (an almost 23 year old who is inexperienced in cooking) can [attempt to] make, a cute outfit idea, or something funny that brightens my day. Since I’m a bit obsessed with Pinterest, I thought I would start a “How Pinteresting” series where I pick out my favorite things that I’ve seen on Pinterest lately. Kind of like my “best of” Pinterest. So, I’m going to have a Pinterest party on the blog for a few minutes.
Not only is the typography for this quote cool, but it’s also a simple truth. So often I look to milestones (new years, new months, birthdays, graduations, etc.) to be the starting points for my goals. But honestly, those milestones are still days like the other 365 you get in a year. Important days of course, but they’re still days marked on the calendar just like the others. My advice: don’t limit yourself by waiting around for a milestone to start something that is important to you. If there’s something that you’ve been wanting to do, take a hint from Nike and just do it. Each new day is the first day of the rest of your life. Cheesy? Yes. But it’s true!
I love this vest because it’s feminine and not too puffy. I the like wintry style of vests, but I normally shy away from most of them because I don’t want the dreaded marshmallow look. This one is an exception. The way she accessorized it with the gold watch and necklace also adds a sophisticated touch. I’m going to keep my eye out for a vest like this one!
The caption for this photo on Pinterest says that this is at Somerset House in London. I studied abroad in Oxford, England and went to London multiple times but I never went here. This looks like so much fun. I’ve always wanted to go to an outdoor ice skating rink. My fingers are crossed that someday I’ll go ice skating at Rockefeller Center in NYC. That’s definitely on my bucket list.
And lastly, to bring some cuteness to your day: polar bears. I LOVE polar bears. Especially baby ones. I freak out whenever I see the Christmas Coca Cola commercials with the polar bears.
Ok, it’s time for me to get off and start winding down for the night. My alarm comes early in the morning. Thanks for reading!
