Last June, John and I took a fun weekend trip to Montrose/Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, which is in southwest Colorado. We spent the first night walking around downtown Montrose and then the next day exploring the Black Canyon (which was extremely intense-I’m planning on putting together a post on that soon).
Downtown Montrose is a quaint city with a population of around 19,000 people. It serves as a gateway for fun tourist attractions like the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and ski areas. It was my first time being there and I would definitely put it on my list of must-visit areas in Colorado.
On our first night there, I wore this black and white outfit. I felt put-together in it but also comfortable, which was important since we had a 4+ hour drive earlier in the day and then walked around downtown Montrose quite a bit that night. To me, comfy yet put-together are the best kind of outfits! : )
Here’s the details of the look:
Top: Old Navy
Shorts: JC Penny
I’m a huge fan of the printed shorts trend. I think it’s a fun way to jazz up a basic or solid color top. I also love black and white together-it’s a classic color combination that never goes out of style. It’s my go-to combination.
In another post, I’ll share more photos of the quaint, historic town of Montrose and also of our adventure hiking around the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. As always, thanks for reading! : )
